Scope Ratings, FNG Seals, Österreichischer Dachfonds Awards... there’s a myriad of awards and quality seals for funds and investment fund companies that are issued by different institutions. They represent important, external, independent assessments, not only for investors, but also for the asset management companies as well.
Comprehensive quality assessment
Awards and quality seals do more than just evaluate the performance of a fund, as qualitative criteria and investment strategies are often also included in the assessment. Thus, the scope can go beyond an evaluation of the product alone and encompass the entire company involved.
Raiffeisen Kapitalanlage GmbH (Raiffeisen Capital Management) and its products are constantly being assessed by independent institutions and regularly receive awards. For example, the sustainability approach itself has generated top awards for the company.
“We’ve made enormous efforts in recent years, investing significant labour and development work in our product portfolio and our SRI process, which we restructured and improved again in 2022,” said Dieter Aigner, Managing Director and Chief Sustainable Investment Officer (CSIO) at Raiffeisen Capital Management.
Strict assessment criteria
The scope of assessment for issuing quality seals and awards is as comprehensive as it is diverse. Key criteria include performance over certain time periods based on the Sharpe ratio* and in-depth qualitative analyses, for example covering the investment process, or the expertise of the fund management team as a whole. The ability to maintain consistently high quality over a longer period of time is another factor taken into consideration. Individual awards are thus based on the assessment of different criteria. Here are some examples of why Raiffeisen Capital Management or a specific fund has earned an award:
Solid expertise in sustainability.
The development of a proprietary ESG indicator which incorporates a range of input factors and quantifies the ESG level of the invested company as a whole; it forms the basis for the ESG rating.
Excellent quality and expertise in managing sustainable fund strategies.
In this regard, the stringent ESG approach was highlighted, thanks to which responsible management can be harmonised with the mitigation of investment risks.
The fund management team’s top-notch expertise, which is responsible for the consistent success of the ESG branch and is constantly being expanded and refined. The focused SRI approach corresponds with Raiffeisen KAG’s long-term strategy of transitioning the entire product range to a sustainability basis.
Consistency and credibility count
Awards such as the EMEA Finance Limited show how an asset management company compares to its competitors throughout Europe. In this regard, Raiffeisen KAG was able to outdo some large, international competitors.
This is not the first time that Raiffeisen Capital Management has received some of these awards, as they have been earned on multiple occasions, such as the Scope Rating or the FNG Seal. It indicates consistency and credibility when quality seals or awards are issued repeatedly.
Numerous awards and quality seals for Raiffeisen Capital Management
Raiffeisen KAG is very pleased with the awards and quality seals it has received, as these confirm the excellent quality of the funds and investment process. In the ongoing awards season for 2022/2023, Raiffeisen Capital Management has taken several honours:

Scope: again AAA top-rating
The awards issued by the German rating agency Scope are among the most important ones in the German-speaking market. It is thus particularly gratifying that Raiffeisen KAG has been recognised by Scope again, as for the second time in a row, the agency Scope attested Raiffeisen KAG’s excellent quality and competency in the management of sustainable fund strategies with an “AAA Asset Management Rating”.
